For the second year in a row, Verizon Wireless is sponsoring a My Fabulous 15 Party contest to win “the Quince of your dreams.”

This year’s party will be held October 3, and the prize includes transportation for up to ten guests to the party, a personal event planner, audio/visual screens, dinner for up to 200 guests, a DJ/emcee, decorations, a birthday cake, a professional photographer, a videographer, plus there will be a live concert from pop artist Pee Wee.
Only teens from Los Angeles, San Jose, Las Vegas, Denver and Kennewick, Wash. can enter by writing a brief essay that answers these three questions:
- What does winning a Quince mean to you?
- How do you stay in touch with your friends?
- What is your favorite subject and why?
And here’s some other important info:
“The person entering can also include any financial, medical or other hardships faced by the teenager; his/her goals, dreams or plans in life; community involvement or personal service to benefit others; scholastic achievements and how winning the Grand Prize would change his/her life or the lives of others.” If you’re applying definitely do this!
The submissions are due August 16 and the semi finalists will be voted on by the public.

Winning a quince is like a dream come to true to my grandma, my tia and me. On April 17,2010 I was discussing how my quinceanera was gonna be like with my tia, that was the last time we ever talked before she passed away on April 21,2010. My parents both work and have to provide for 4 children. My sister is graduating this year and I have no idea how my parents can get me my dream quinceanera and also provide for my brothers n sister, and pay for my sisters senior year. I keep in touch with my friends thru my phone thats the only way I can talk to them. My favorite subjects are hanging with friends/family and playing sports. My plan in life is to be a veternarien and to get a scholoarship for softball or basketball. I’ve helped my community in protesting against animal cruelty in middle school, I had gotten up to more then 500 signitures but I wish it was enough. But it sent an awareness to my community. Being with friends and family helps me keep my head up from everything that happen last year(2010) I’ve had to deal with death and lose my tia and grandpa died the same year. Its been almost 8 months without them and my family isnt as happy or the same as when they were here. Its hard for a teen like me to see my parents go thru tough times with money and my family depressed. I just dream for one night it would just all disappear and everyone would smile for once in a long time. Thats is a dream I would love to come true.
Winning my quince would be something special to me it would be my dream come true.It something ive always wished for but unfortunity my parents can’t do me one.We been through alot the past year and even this year.My older brother just got out of jail and my parents had to pay for a lawyer to get him out,the case was sucess but they still owe the lawyer.My dad hasn’t been working for over the past 3yrs and he still hasn’t found a job.My mom is the only one working and we are six in the household, besides my older brother that bearly started working but he has to provide for his family.My mom and dad struggle alot and they both have medical problems,and it’s even more stressing for my mom because she works at night and hardly gets rest and it afects her health.I stay in touch with my friends at school and some even live in my neighborhood.My favorite subject is hanging out with my friends.listening to music and talking on the phone with my friends and relatives.My goal is to stay in school and become a probation officar many teens are dropping out of school, but im planning to stay in school and put my grades up.It was like about a year ago that my friends cousin had past away and they needed money to send her body to mexico as her cousins last wish,so to help out I decided to go around my neighborhood and raise money so they could make her cousins last wish come true.I went around and raised up about 300 dollars.It wasn’t much but it would help,but i didnt do it alone,my two other friends helped me they would knock and I would speak.Winning this prize would really change my life in many ways,I would be the happiest girl on earth.I’ll be turing 15 this april on the 5 and it’s kinda to late but if it’s possible i would love to have my 16.
winning a quince party would be a dream and blessing come true for me and my parents. i have always dreamed of a quince party with the dress and chambelanes. unfortunately my parents can not provide me with a quince party.growingng up always knew that having quince would be an immense burden on my parents, my mom having rheumatoid arthritis cant even get up in the mornings unless she gets her medicine, and my dad having a health condition that cause deformity in your feet (charcotmarietooth) since i was young i had to grow up fast so since i was little i knew that telling my parents i want to have a quince would extremely fill them with guilt because they couldn’t provide me with one. when I was 11 I had to go through surgery I had to get my leg fixed from the hereditary condition I got from my father. To stay in touch with my friends I call them on the phone and email them. They are awesome people and really nice they are having a quince and wish they could provide me with one .my favorite subjects is chemistry. When I grow up I want to become a micro biologist I love chemistry because you learn abut how to balance equations and how they have to do with every day items . When i grow up I want to become a microbiologist and a lawyer. I want to be a micro biologist because I wont to help people with health conditions and how to treat them. I would also really love to find a cure to rheumatoid arthritis. I want to become a lawyer because I believe that all people deserve to have an argument and be able to have a court date instead of being unfairly accused(also I love CSI Mami). It is hard for me to see my parents going through all this hard time just to take care of me and my brother. Getting this party would give my family a much needed smile and would also lift a huge burden off my parents shoulders. Would just one day in my life be Cinderella no matter and smile to all my family and friends spending my special day with me . Thank you for this opportunity
