I took Lainey, my daughter, to see the new Cinderella movie last week and we both loved it! It was true to the original movie, but seeing it with live action characters, made it feel even more real. We were totally swept up in the drama and romance.
With all the excitement around the movie, we are definitely seeing more Cinderella parties being added to Catch My Party.
I was inspired to come up with a few Cinderella birthday party dessert table treats, and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to make treats that were easy, inexpensive, and would look terrific at an upcoming Cinderella party! Here’s what I came up with…
White Chocolate Covered Pretzel Wands
Supplies:
- Light blue candy melts
- Pretzel rods
- White candy pearls
Directions:
Melt the candy melts in the microwave at 30 second intervals, mixing after each interval, until the chocolate is melted.
Spoon the melted chocolate onto the pretzel rods.
Place pretzel rods a baking tray covered in wax paper to let dry. After about 30 seconds, while the white chocolate is beginning to harden, sprinkle with white pearls.
Cinderella Princess Popcorn
Supplies:
- Light blue candy melts
- Microwave popcorn
- Mini marshmallows
- Blue sanding sugar
Directions:
Make your popcorn according to microwave directions.
Melt the candy melts in the microwave at 30 second intervals, mixing after each interval, until the chocolate is melted.
Spread your popcorn on a baking tray covered in wax paper.
Spoon melted chocolate onto popcorn. Mix with your hands until it’s as coated as you like. Mix in mini marshmallows and sprinkle with sanding sugar.
Stacked and Frosted Pumpkin Cookies
Supplies:
- Thin cookies (I liked the Cookie Thins from Trader Joes because of the scalloped edges)
- Wilton Decorating Icing
- Wilton Pumpkin Icing Decorations
- Blue sanding sugar
- White pearls
Directions:
Lay out three cookies. On each cookie, squeeze icing in a circular pattern leaving about a 1/4 inch rim around the cookie.
Stack the three cookies. On the top cookie affix your pumpkin, then sprinkle blue sanding sugar. You can also use white pearls as accents.
And there you have my three treat ideas!
Finally, one of the most spectacular things about the movie was Cinderella’s blue dress! Here is Lainey dressed in her new Cinderella dress inspired by the movie. She especially loved the gloves. Isn’t she such a princess?!
And here’s to a happily ever after Cinderella party!
