Kristen and Missy from Sweetly Chic Events & Designs, are her with a beautiful ribbon wands DIY using just washi tape, dowels, and ribbon. These ribbon wands would be perfect at a princess or fairy party, or even for pretend play.
Nothing makes a little girl feel more like a fairy princess like the perfect ribbon wand! You can make your very own sparkly and sweet ribbon wand by following these quick and easy steps. They are the perfect addition to any princess ensemble or even as a fun party favor!
Supplies:
- Thin Wooden Dowel
- Satin Ribbon
- Eye hook
- Washi Tape
- Scissors
Directions:
1.) Take your eye hook and screw it into the top of your wooden dowel. Our dowel was made of soft pine and screwed right in, but feel free to drill a starter hole if it won’t screw in easily.
2.) Next, begin to wrap your wooden dowel in the washi tape (we chose a purple sparkly tape but you can use any colors your like!)
3.) Continue to wrap the washi tape around your dowel. This should leave you with a fully covered sparkly wand!
4.) Now cut six 12 inch strips of ribbon in your choice of color(s). We chose pink and purple to match our washi tape.
6.) Carefully thread your strands of ribbon through the eye hook. Be careful to ensure your ribbon strands are lined up.
7.) Tie a knot with the ribbon around the eye hook and pull tight. If your ribbon became a little uneven during the process, simply trim your edge so that they are the same length.
8.) This should leave you with a simple yet sweet washi tape ribbon wand for your princess!
Congratulations on creating your own beautiful and fun ribbon wand, suitable for any little princess or fairy! It can serve as a fun craft or dress up accent for your little one, or as fun, frilly and easy party favor that all your party guests can take home!
