With summer entertaining in full swing, how about trying this delicious skinny meatball recipe to serve up easy turkey meatballs to your guests. These are great for kids, too.

Baking them in the oven keeps the turkey meat moist, and you avoid drying them out by over-cooking in a crock pot.

The meatballs will take on the flavor of the BBQ sauce you serve them with. I love using a sweet and tad bit spicy BBQ sauce.

Skinny Meatball Recipe

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350℉.

Toss onion and garlic with 1-2 teaspoons olive oil. Saute in a pan until onions are translucent. Combine ground turkey, onions, garlic, egg, bread crumbs, pineapple, salt and pepper.

I like to use a potato masher to combine all my ingredients, but you can also use your hands.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a tablespoon, scoop the meatballs and roll them into small balls.

Place meatballs on the baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden.

Place cooked meatballs in a bowl and toss in barbecue sauce. Keep meatballs warm in a small crock pot on low.

Serve each meatball on a platter with toothpicks!

Ingredients

• ▢ 1 lb. ground turkey

Notes

Try making these ahead and freezing. Then simply load them in a crockpot with barbecue sauce.
