How cool. I’m finally blogging. The splash page and blog went up yesterday so Catch My Party is now an official site.

But you might be wondering…what is Catch My Party? Well, not much yet, but it is going to be a site for you to share your party pix and party memories — kind of like a living “scrapbook ” — and then your friends (or random people) can comment and you can comment back and there will be other features, like videos and slideshows, but those will come later. Oh, and the site will mostly be focused on weddings, Sweet 16s, Quinceañeras, Bat Mitzvahs, proms, formals…any party with a great dress!

So the big question is when will the site be up. Well, I’m told by my development team that it should be working in a couple of months. So let’s hope all goes according to plan, because it’s been a long journey so far. Building a website on a shoestring budget when you’ve just had a baby (pix of baby to come) takes A LOT more time than you’d think.

In fact, I came up with the initial idea for Catch about two years ago. I had just gone to a friend’s wedding and after it was all over, I thought, God it sucks when your party ends, especially after all the planning, preparation, dieting, sleepless nights, fights with your mother/fiance/boyfriend/whomever, butterflies in your stomach…

So I thought, why not create a website where people can have a place where their party never ends. That was the idea. Oh, and I wanted the site to be pink and girly because I love stuff that’s pink and girly.

So… from now on I’ll be giving you updates on the site, chiming in on party stuff I’ve found that I think is worth sharing, and musing on who knows what else, but I’ll try to keep things short and interesting.

So welcome to Catch My Party! It’s gonna be a blast!
